SPERM MOTILITY TESTING
Subjective motility testing is performed using a compound phase contrast light microscope. All samples assessed by any of the The Reproduction Company reference laboratories in Sydney, Perth and Brisbane, undergo motility testing using assessors and techniques that have been standardised to ensure uniformity across all sites.

Motility is an important consideration as it is directly related to fertilising capacity. In order for spermatozoa to travel through the female reproductive tract and successfully penetrate the oocyte, they require progressive motility. Therefore, motility is an important parameter during both natural and assisted conception.
